About the Artist

Jo Forbes

These works are in response to Portrack Marsh and the river Tees. They relate to the area and that a former meander of the river Tees is now the site of Portrack Marsh. The river was cut in the 19th century to facilitate a quicker trade route. The railway was bought in not long afterwards so it was a seen as a waste of money.
