Part Time Gallery Assistant

RCCAG is hiring two part-time Gallery Assistants to support the Arts Council England-funded '2025 Redcar Summer Exhibition'. This opportunity is ideal for recent art graduates and emerging artists.

Position Details:

• Duration: 7th April – 30th September 2025

• Weekly Hours: Variable, averaging 10 hours per week including weekend and occasional evenings

• Pay: £15 per hour (excluding lunch breaks)

Responsibilities:

• Assist with all aspects of gallery operations for the Redcar Summer Exhibition (11th July – 24th August).

• Support exhibition installation, art sales, customer service, and engagement with collaborators including schools, artists etc.

• Maintain a flexible and proactive attitude, eager to learn and assist with various gallery activities.

• Show initiative in carrying out required tasks and ensure punctuality.

Candidate Requirements:

• A degree in Fine Art or a related field is beneficial but not essential.

• A strong understanding of and interest in contemporary art is required.

• Skills in digital marketing including social media are preferred.

• Experience using Canva & Squarespace is preferred.
