Part Time Gallery Assistant
RCCAG is hiring two part-time Gallery Assistants to support the Arts Council England-funded '2025 Redcar Summer Exhibition'. This opportunity is ideal for recent art graduates and emerging artists.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview on Saturday, 1st March.

Position Details:
Duration: 7th April – 30th September 2025
Weekly Hours: Variable, averaging 10 hours per week including weekend and occasional evenings
Pay: £15 per hour (excluding lunch breaks)
Responsibilities:
Assist with all aspects of gallery operations for the Redcar Summer Exhibition (11th July – 24th August).
Support exhibition installation, art sales, customer service, and engagement with collaborators including schools, artists etc.
Maintain a flexible and proactive attitude, eager to learn and assist with various gallery activities.
Show initiative in carrying out required tasks and ensure punctuality.
Candidate Requirements:
A degree in Fine Art or a related field is beneficial but not essential.
A strong understanding of and interest in contemporary art is required.
Skills in digital marketing including social media are preferred.
Experience using Canva & Squarespace is preferred.

KIRILL SOKOLOV EXHIBITION CLOSING & TASTE OF JAPAN
We enjoyed the powerful art of Kirill Sokolov for the last time in conjunction with the first free Japan club event. Through a Japanese tea ceremony using beautiful bowls made by local potters, we signalled the end of Kirill Sokolov’s ‘Later Works’ exhibition.

Thank you Dave Robson for inviting me back to the live Zetland radio interview. This time, we talked a lot about the Redcar Summer Exhibition (7 July - 26 August) and the gallery's past project responding to 'The Cost of Living Crisis'. I hope I was not too enthusiastic and passionate about what we would like to do through our non-conventional contemporary art gallery.
