Working mainly in a traditional watercolour manner building up layers of dilute washes until a richness in depth and detail is achieved. I am currently working on a series of paintings based on items I have found at various coastal locations across the UK hoping to draw people's attention to the beauty we walk over and the diverse geology of our coasts.

Beach finds, Flamborough, North Yorkshire

Found items from Flamborough beach arranged and painted in pure watercolour in the studio. Flamborough is a particularly striking part of North Yorkshire's coast as it's geology of chalk and flint set it apart from the rest of North Yorkshire and so it has more in common in appearance with East Anglia and the South coast.
