About the Artist

Susan Crowther

A very personal response to my surroundings, primarily based on the immediate landscape which is a juxtaposition of fascinating urban images within a stones throw of panoramic rural aspects of farmland rolling towards the dramatic Pennines and Moors. Much of the work is a representation of the same location where the only component to change is time. Is it the midday sun or the onset of dusk which illuminates and defines the contours of land? Using mixed media, layer upon layer of inks, glues, paint and anything worthy of making a mark which is then erased, scratched into and transformed from it's original state, An emotional expression to nature in all its beauty and fragility as I perceive it.

Water of the Sea

A mixed approach to the sea and its natural force but also the danger of decline.
