About the Artist
Terox
Can you tell us about you?
I’m Terox , a contemporary graffiti artist from Newcastle . I’m 11 years old , I’ve been working on my garden Graf collection for 2 years . I currently have a large piece in the Baltic art gallery for a 7 month period. It’s called bubbles and is my interpretation of rain clouds after a storm. It was a large piece scaled down to fit the gallery.
I’ve done murals , buses, large pieces ,smaller framed works and mixed media pieces. My chosen medium is spray paint .
I’ve recently finished a piece with the BBC showcasing my art & had 3 pieces selected for the Nelson Mandela Anniversary.
I’ve featured in a book of 25 unique upcoming contemporary artists.
I’m having my first solo show at Bottleworks Ouseburn 29 July -7th Aug
The piece small I’ve entered here is called Rhythm in blue .
What is your inspiration to the new work, Redcar Rhythm in Blue, at the Redcar Contemporary Art Gallery?
This time I’ve been asked to make my smaller piece into a larger scale one .
A mural infact .
The theme is environment. I was further inspired by my visit to RCCAG where I saw pictures of bubbles, a boy eating ice cream ,beach sky & a seagull.
I’m elaborating on rhythm in blue , pulling it into a contemporary beach scene utilising some of my signature colours ( blues & purple) . My original work is almost pulled into the waves .
I’ve also added my signature bubbles ,bouncing on the waves & the seagulls I could hear all around me .
This mural is entitled Redcar Rhythm in blue.
